Berkley is currently attending the local two-year college in order to complete her basics so that she can transfer to her dream university. Academics do not come easy for her and she carries a low B average. She knows she must get her GPA up but sometimes thinks she just wasn't born smart. She thinks that putting more effort into studying may be futile and that she might just give up trying. What would you tell Berkley about the importance of developing a growth mindset so that she can reach her goals?

Answers may vary, but should contain the following for full credit:
Getting into the university of her choice will require a high GPA, and typically a low B average is not going to get her there. She needs to let go of the notions that she wasn't born smart and that effort doesn't matter. Berkley should embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, persist even when she feels like giving up, and endeavor to understand that her hard work is part of the road to a high GPA. If she listens for constructive criticism and finds mentors who are successful, she can set herself up to reach her goals.
