The justifications under the common law rule allowing for individuals to resist an unlawful arrest include:

▸ a state may not indiscriminately take away a person's liberty.

▸ citizens are responsible for governing the governors (police).

▸ innocent persons may resist by virtue of the injustice attempted to be placed on them.

▸ All of these are correct.
