"In the world but not of it" is a phrase that describes some Mennonite communities with their own parochial schools (they do not send their children to public schools), their reliance on horse-and-buggy transportation, and their values of humility and simple living. Would you consider these communities to be a subculture or a counterculture? What impact would living outside of the mainstream culture have on the children? Explain fully your position.
