a. A large Punnett square can be used to predict the outcome of a parental cross involving two traits.

b. Sometimes all alleles lack dominance, which leads to a blending of traits.

c. Non-allelic genes do not affect each other if they are located on separate chromosomes.

d. The dominant allele is represented with an uppercase letter and the recessive allele is represented with a lowercase letter.

Law of independent assortment stated that during gametes formation or reproductive cell formation, different genes or non-allelic genes separated or assorted or classified independently.

example: assume that in parents genes like A its allele AA- for eye color, gene B it's allele BB for skin color, so during gamete formation, both non-allelic gene called A and B are sorted out independently and both genes are received in a gamete without any influence.

Hence for question 1, option A is correct that is, Non- allelic genes do not affect each other if they are located on separate chromosomes.

Identify the correct genotypes listed above for the pea plant phenotypes described below.

Phenotype                                                                       Number

Pure breeding tall and green pod pea plant            Answer

Pea plant used for a test cross                                   Answer

Heterozygous tall and heterozygous green pod pea plant
                                                                                             Answer

Yellow pod heterozygous tall pea plant                  Answer

TTGG pure breeding tall, green pod pea plant ( pure breeding one such has to transfer their characteristics through genes for several generations without fail and has homozygous genes like TT, GG, gg, tt.)

ttgg pea plant used for a test cross ( test cross is used to identify the unknown genotype of f1 and f2 generation by making a cross between unknown plant (f1 or f2 plant) with their recessive parent (ttgg)).

TtGG Heterozygous tall and green pod pea plant ( heterozygous represents with one dominant and one recessive allele like Tt, Gg, homozygous represents TT, GG, gg, tt. Here they ask only about heterozygous tall (Tt) and green pod (GG).

Ttgg yellow pod heterozygous tall pea plant (yellow pod is a recessive character and its genotype is gg, the heterozygous tall genotype is Tt)
