Why male parent age increases risk of birth defects?
I know women largely have the same eggs their whole life so damage is possible, but men create new sperm regularly. Do they have proof of why male age is a factor?

Just as DNA damage accumulates everywhere in your body as you age, the same is true for the progenitor cells responsible for producing sperm. hence, expect sperm produced by older men to have more defects (dna fragmentation, motility issues, and overall sperm count)

Anyway to fix DNA in a lab, or at least identify the damage if a more indirect form of conception is used?

Hi
CarbonRobot
Problem is that new sperm is produced every 72 hours. One batch may be defected, while the next might be normal. Of course tests exist, and I'm sure they're conducted in fertilization clinics before insemination.
