An object with a mass of 0.75 kg is projected over a horizontal surface with a speed of 2.5 m/s. It then comes to rest after 3.0 s.

The coefficient of kinetic friction can be calculated using the equation:

μk = (2 * (ΔKE)) / (m * (v2 - v1))

Where ΔKE is the change in kinetic energy, m is the mass of the object, and v2 and v1 are the initial and final velocities of the object.

In this case, ΔKE = 0 (since the object comes to rest), m = 0.75 kg, v2 = 0 m/s, and v1 = 2.5 m/s.

Therefore, μk = (2 * 0) / (0.75 * (0 - 2.5)) = 0.
