Henry is trying to figure out how much money he needs to buy a new video game. He knows that the game costs $8 and he has $2 already. He also knows that he needs to pay 3/4 of the cost of the game. How much more money does Henry need to buy the game?

Henry needs to solve the equation 3/4x + 2 - 6 = 8 to figure out how much more money he needs.

First, Henry needs to add 6 to both sides of the equation to get 3/4x + 8 = 14.

Next, Henry needs to subtract 2 from both sides of the equation to get 3/4x = 12.

Finally, Henry needs to divide both sides of the equation by 3/4 to get x = 16.

Henry needs $16 more to buy the new video game.
