(a) Three sources of fires in natural ecosystems are lightning, human activities, and spontaneous combustion.

To reduce the potential frequency of occurrence due to human activities, people should be educated on the importance of fire safety and the dangers of starting fires in natural ecosystems. People should also be discouraged from engaging in activities that could potentially start a fire, such as smoking, campfires, and fireworks. Additionally, people should be encouraged to practice proper disposal of cigarettes and other materials that could potentially start a fire. Finally, people should be encouraged to report any suspicious activity that could lead to a fire.

Herbivores are those animals that are involved in feeding on plants. They are adapted to eating plants physiologically and anatomically. They vary in their size, some are smaller like insects and some are larger like elephants. They are referred to as a major part of the food web.

Carnivores are those organisms that feed on other animals. Some carnivores are predators and the organisms which feed on those carnivores are called prey.

The feeding and taking care of herbivores are less challenging as compared to carnivores because herbivores are not dangerous, they do not act like predators. They do not feed on the flesh of other animals as carnivores do and carnivores require large amounts of food to satisfy their energy needs as compared to herbivores. Herbivores are having specialized type of digestive systems for some plants that are easily available in the environment.

The food chain describes the sequence of events in the ecosystem. This describes the trophic levels where one organism feeds on other organisms and the loss of energy takes place as moving up in the trophic levels.

Hence, feeding and taking care of herbivores are less challenging because they are not dangerous, predators, do not feed on the flesh of other animals, and do not require large amounts of food.
