13 part (both questions are related) I will put a diffract one too
1) In mice, black eyes are dominant (R over red eyes (9. In an ideal mouse population exhibiting Hardy- Weinberg equilibrium, 60 mice out of 1 426 have red eyes.
Calculate the frequency of homozygous dominant mice in the population. Record your answer as a value between O and 1, rounded to two decimal places.
1b) Congenital myasthenic syndrome (CMS) is an autosomal recessive condition that results in muscle weakness. It normally affects the facial muscles and muscles that control chewing, swallowing, and breathing. Many children affected by CMS often have feeding difficulties and delays in walking.
In a population of 600 individuals with familial histories of CMS, scientists have found that 78 of them had the disorder.
What is the frequency of (MS in the population examined by the scientists?
Record your answer as a value between 0 and 1, rounded to two decimal places.
2) Some Characteristics of Lobster
1. Can live up to 100 years
2. Is a family of marine crustaceans
3. Females carry approximately 8 000 eggs
4. From 50 000 eggs, only 2 lobsters reach adulthood
5. It takes approximately 5 to 8 years to mature into adults
6, Lobsters shed once every two years to increase its body size
7. Females carry the eggs inside for 9 to 12 months and externally for another 9 to 12 months
8. Lobsters raised in aquaculture often eat each other and will require their claws to be banded
9. Newborn lobsters float near the water surface for 4 to 6 weeks without any protection from the parents
10. Lobsters growth depend significantly on water temperature, food supply, water salinity, and depth of water
Four characteristics of lobsters that allow scientists to classify them as relatively -selected organisms are
and

1 b)
CMS is autosomal recessive disease. Suppose R is the dominant allele and r is the recessive allele for the disease. RR and Rr are normal but rr will be diseased
Here 78 individuals had disease. That means 78 rr genotype. Total number of individuals =600
Thus, frequency of r^2 (rr) = 78/600 = 0.13.
frequency of r =\(\sqrt{0.13}\) =0.36
frequency of R = 1- 0.36 = 0.64
frequency of carrier = frequency of Rr = 0.36 * 0.64 = 0.23
2)
Three characteristics are:
They can live up to 100 years.(Longer life span)
From 50 000 eggs, only two lobsters reach adulthood.(Fewer matured offspring)
Females carry the eggs inside for 9 to 12 months and externally for another 9 to 12 months.(parental care)
[In addition option number (5) and (6) also satisfy K-selected organisms' characteristics like slow growth and larger body size.]
