here is how i do it 4 - 2 = 2 okie got 2 for the whole number type it down

2 - 1 id really k how to do that the whole taking away thing i nvr understood so if u can explain that in simple terms ty that would help me plus also put some notes down for me to understand better but this is i think its gonna be 7 by taking 3 from the 3 i already have so that turns to nothing theres no more there so then it would be the final answer...

2 7/12 am i correct did i do the math right?

It appears that you are trying to subtract 1 from 2 3/4. When you subtract a number that is larger than what you are subtracting from, you need to borrow from the next digit to the left.
