Picture to help answer the question is attached

After viewing various human cells and structures found in the cytoplasm and nucleus, a student made a sketch of one structure observed.

The diagram seems to illustrate the beginning stages of chromosomal crossover, which usually occurs during meiosis to generate genetic variation. So the answer should be:

a) ovary, illustrating crossing-over by homologous chromosomes.
