Does RNA Interference work the same way for exogenous RNAs aka siRNA? Because I'm not sure whether viruses have dsRNA and all the transcription, translation, dicer stuff like our human cells. and my Biology notes say that RNA Interference can work for both endogenous and exogenous RNAs.. So if anyone knows, please help me clear my doubts.. thank you  Slight Smile

Yes

In addition, RNA Interference works for both endogenous and exogenous RNAs. The enzyme dicer initiates the process by cleaving double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecules into short fragments of ~20 nucleotides. The genome of many viruses is coded by dsRNA.
