Heyy...I'm in yr9 n this is my homework.I reallllly can't do it !! Frowning Face pplease help:

Name the Receptor, Sensory neurone, Central nervous System, Motor neurone, Effector and response when these are the stimuli:

1)Hand placed on hot iron
2) Knee hit with hammer
3) Ball flies towards face
4) Scary tiger growling
5) Eating chocolate.

Here are the options we choose from:

- Temperature sensitive nerve endings in skin
- Salivary Glands
- Signals travel to mouth
- Muscles in arm and hand
- Signals travel from hand to spinal cord along neurones
-Signals travel from leg to spinal cord along neurones
- Signals travel to leg muscles
-Brain
- Muscles in arms and hands
- Spinal cord
- Brain
- Signals travel to glands
- Muscles contract , hands move to protect face
- Signals travel to arm and hand muscles
-Vibration sensitive nerve endings in ears
- Signls sent from mouth to brain
- Muscles contract, the leg jerks
- light sensitive nerve endings in eyes
- Signals travel to arm and hand muscles
- Salivary glands secrete saliva
- The hormone adrenalin prepares the body for danger
- Chemical sensitive nerve endings in tongue
- Adrenal glands
- Brain
- Auditory nerves carry signals to brain
- Pressure sensitive nerve endings in skin
- Muscles in leg
- Optic nerves carry signals to brain
- Spinal cord
- Muscles contract. hand moves away from heat.

Okay, I will do the first one, and then you do the next.

Stimulus: Hand placed on hot iron

Receptor: temperature sensitive nerve endings in skin

Sensory neuron: Signals travel from hand to spinal cord along neurones

central nervous system (CNS): spinal cord

motor neuron: signals travel to arm and hand muscles

effector: muscles in arm and hand

response: muscles contract, hand moves away from heat

Now you try!

If you can't do it, reply back and I will provide more assistance!
