Hello there

This is a tricky question.. If you try imagining the action potential's depolarization and hyperpolarization phases, it may seem that no they're not. But, they do, although it is a very brief moment. Also, there are slow and fast channels of both involved.
It could not be possible that both are strictly shut or open at the same time. While one is closing, the other would be slowly opening and vice versa.
I hope this clarifies a little. Slight Smile

I forgot to mention, the action potential all in all lasts less than one second. So imagine how brief the overlapping phases of Na and K  opening and closing would be  Face with Open Mouth Slight Smile
