Zach is 4-years-old and he is shopping with his mother at the local department store. In the toy aisle, Zach sees another young boy, a bit younger than him, taking a matchbox toy and slyly slipping the car into his jeans pocket.  Zack confronts the young boy about “stealing,” but the boy denies he took anything. Given Zach’s age and probable moral stance, what might his typical reaction be?
a.    The young boy doesn’t deserve to be punished because he is too young.
b.    Lying is always wrong and the boy should be punished for taking the toy, but not too severely.
c.    The young boy should be put in time-out for stealing
d.    The young boy should not be punished because no one, but Zach saw him grab the toy.
