How many visible photons would be needed to have enough energy to lift a 1 newton weight through 0.2 meter? (Assume a visible photon has a frequency of 5 ✕ 1014 Hz.)

W = (1 N)*(0.2 m) = 0.2 J of work to accomplish this. You can then use

E = (h*c)/w where w is the wavelength of the light. Typically when you do problems with visible light you use 550 nm wavelength. So, now you'll know how many joules are in one photon of visible light. From there you should be able to work out how many photons are needed.
