Thiessen and Saffran (2003) documented developmental differences in infants’ tendency to use stress as a cue to word boundaries. In their experiments, infants were familiarized with artificial languages in which the first or second syllable of every word was stressed. After familiarization, infants’ attention was drawn to one side of the testing room with a blinking light. When infants turned their head toward the light, a word was played continuously until the infants looked away. This methodology is known as ___.
a.   preferential-looking paradigm
b.   habituation paradigm
c.   head-turn preference procedure
d.   high amplitude sucking procedure
