I absolutely loved studying both Physics and Astronomy! I was just curious if it's worth doing a BSc degree, followed by a Master's/PhD degree?
What jobs are actually available?
What is the average pay?
Or should I just make these subjects a leisure activity, and do a degree in something else?
Thanks

You'd really need a PhD to get a job in the field, and you'd definitely need a PhD to get a job doing research in astronomy.  Astronomers work for colleges and universities, national labs and observatories, and NASA/ESA type agencies.  There aren't a ton of jobs for astronomers, but that's ok, because there aren't a ton of astronomers either.  The jobs pay between 40k and 200k a year depending on how long you've had your degree and what kind of job it is.  Not many astronomers make over 100k a year.  If you like the field, it's a great job, but it won't make you rich.
