1) Arrange the following in order of the greatest to least contribution to the ability of fatty acids to pack together.

 
 1. Short unsaturated tail
 2. Short saturated tail
 3. Long unsaturated tail
 4. Long saturated tail

2) What do these compounds all have in common:

cholesterol, vitamin K, ubiquionone, retinol

- They are all hyrophilic
-They are all synthesized from 5 carbon units
-They are all modified with hydroxyl groups.
-They are all vitamins.

3)     Match the following
        myristoylation 
   prenylation 
   palmitoylation
A.    attaches an isoprenoid
B.    attaches to the SH of cysteine
C.    attaches to the amino terminus of glycine
D.    attaches to amino group of lysine
