.i have been carrying out dna extraction by the sodium perchlorate metthod but lately there is lot of white ppt which is slimy after addition of chloroform and dna does not get extracted

Wash your pellet with 70% ethanol.  After adding 70% ethanol, gently break the pellet to re-suspend it. Then spin it hard to re-pellet the DNA. This works pretty good.

thnx,but i have tried that i get a precipitated pellet which does not dissolve in TE+RNAse buffer and i don't get gdna.
