watts = volts x amps

you have two different voltages in your house: 120V and 240V

If the circuit you measured is on a 120V line, then 120 x 7.5 = 900 watts
Your electric bill is metered in kilowatt hours.
If you pay 10 cents per kilowatt hour, then operating a 1000 watt (1 kilowatt) appliance for 1 hour a day will cost 30 kilowatt hours or $3.00 per month
A 900 watt power load will cost $2.70 per month
