A woman with type AB blood has a child with a man who has type A blood. I know I have to be careful with this one; since there is more than one option for a type A genotype. How are the punnett square(s) supposed to look for this one? What are the possible blood types for their child? And what if the woman has type 0 blood?

suppose the alles of blood are A,A for father and B,O for mother .one of this is dominant and the other one is ressesive.

If the man is heterozygous, the Punnett square is:

_____A_____i____<----the man
A___AA____Ai___<----2 children with type A
B___AB____Bi___<----child with AB, child with type B

If the man is homozygous, the Punnett square is:

____A_____A____<----the man
A__AA____AA___<----2 kids with type A
B__AB____AB___<----2 kids with type AB

If the man is homozygous and the woman is type O:

____A___
i___Ai___<----the shortcut shows all children heterozygous for type A
