My notes say that it takes 3 cycles to make glucose (because 3 cycles make 1 molecule of G3P which thenturn into 1 glucose), but then it says it takes 12 cycles to make sucrose because each turn of the cycle invests only 1 carbon atom and sucrose has 2 carbons. If thats the case, why doesnt it take 6 cycles to make one glucose since glucose has 6 carbons?

Two molecules of G3P, produced by a total of six turns of the cycle, combine to form one molecule of glucose.
