The following pedigree shows the inheritance of two disorders in the Wilkins family. Assume that all people
marrying into the family in Generation II are neither affected by the disorders nor are they carriers of the
disorder alleles unless explicitly stated otherwise.
a. Indicate the inheritance patterns of both disorders 1 and 2. If either one is sex‐linked,
determine on which chromosome that disorder is located.
b. Name a genetic disorder which has the same inheritance pattern as Disorder #1. Do the same for
Disorder #2.
c. If individual II.e has a child with a woman who is heterozygous for Disorder #2, what is the probability
that their child will have Disorder #2? Be sure to show your Punnett square for full credit.
d. If individual III.d has a child with a man who does not carry the alleles for either Disorder #1 or Disorder
#2, what is the probability that their child will have BOTH Disorders #1 and #2? Be sure to show both of
your Punnett squares for full credit.

Disorder two is not x-linked. Why do you say that?
