Whats the difference between a hydrolysis reaction and a synthesis reaction? PLease help!

A hydroylsis is a specific reaction involving water as a reactant.

A synthesis reaction is a general reaction when 2 substances combine to make a third item.

A + B =C is the type

2H2 + O2 == 2H2O is an example.
