My childhood friend, Isabelle, said she is allergic to milk, but she can still eat chocolate. How is this possible?

It must be a mild allergy, unless she is only eating very dark dairy free chocolate.

Or she made it up Wink Face

This idea that dark chocolate is dairy free by nature is not correct. I do a lot of label checking because I personally cannot eat dairy and because I work in dietetics (so it comes naturally). I would say 85% of dark chocolate available in stores is not dairy free.

Assuming all chocolate that isn't "milk chocolate" is dairy free is a good way to kill someone with a bad milk allergy.

Because chocolate isn't made of milk unless specifically stated as such. Milk itself is from cocoa beans, and Hershey bars (and milk chocolate) are mostly an American thing.

However, it could be that she has a mild allergy to it. I always get slightly sick to my stomach when I consume milk, but it's not enough to keep me away from it.

As long as it's not milk chocolate, there's no milk in chocolate.

only some chocolate has milk in it but chocolate is made of cocoa(not sure if thats how u spell it). so she wouldn't be allergic to chocolate because chocolate doesn't have milk maybe milk chocolate

Eating chocolate which only has milk as an ingredient and then drinking straight milk are completely different things. Her body might be able to handle it in small doses.

Well, chocolate is not just pure milk even if it's milk chocolate. Like was said before, it could be dark chocolate. I have crohn's disease and milk is really bad for me but chocolate is pretty much okay.
