Set up your problem as a multiplication.  What is the unit of the product?

If the unit(s) of the answer make sense, you set up the problem correctly.

The block is 50 m/s * 3 s = 150 m horizontally

d = 0.5AT^2
d = 0.5 * 9.8 * 3^2
d = 4.9 * 9
d = 44.1 m Vertically

Hypotenuse of that triangle is the displacement

x^2 + y^2 = D^2
150^2 + 44.1^2 = D^2
22,500 + 1944.81 = D^2
D^2 =24,444.81
D = 156.34 m   Answer
