BaCO3(s) + 2HBr(aq) Rightwards Arrow BaBr2(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)

Break up the aqueous molecules into ions:

BaCO3(s) + 2H^(+)(aq) + 2Br^(-)(aq) Rightwards Arrow Ba^(2+)(aq) + 2Br^(-)(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)

Cancel out the spectator ions (the ions that appear on both sides)

BaCO3(s) + 2H^(+)(aq) ? Ba^(2+)(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)

There's your net ionic equation Slight Smile
