Example of Balancer chromosomes utilization in crosses

Example: create double mutant stock starting from the following 3 stocks:
mut A  / mut A    (II chromosome)
mut C / mut C    (III chromosome)
If / SM5 ;  TM3 / TM6 (double balanced strain)


We want mutA / mutA ; mutC/mutC


We have
mutA  / mutA    ;   + / +
+ / +                 ;   mutC / mutC 
If / SM5            ;   TM3 / TM6


We want mutA / mutA ; mutC/mutC


Write the genotype including chromosomes relevant to the cross
