An annotated bibliography is used to provide a short description of the sources chosen for your research. There are several ways that an annotated bibliography can assist with your success in writing research papers; they can help narrow your topic, provide a review of the literature on your topic, or they can be a useful pre-writing activity to aid with narrowing the sources you may need to use to support your writing.
Instructions
Download a copy of the Writing an Annotated Bibliography guide from the Writing Center. Choose a health topic of interest to you. Some examples might include obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. Go to the Kaplan Library and complete a peer-reviewed source search for your topic. Locate a minimum of three peer-reviewed sources on your topic. Compose an annotated bibliography for your chosen sources with at least 5-6 sentences for each annotation. Your summary should provide the reader with a clear understanding of what the study adds to the body of literature on the topic. Your annotation should be original and composed by you.
