Essential amino acids must be included in your diet, because your body cannot syntehsize them. Lysine, an essential amino acid, is not present in corn. In areas of Africa where corn is a primary food source, what macromolecules may people lack? Explain why

In Africa, corn is present. However, since corn lacks of amino acid, protein synthesis cannot take place. Proteins are formed from amino acids. Hence, the macromolecule that is lacking is protein.

Consequently, protein-based hormones like insulin cannot be produced...also, enzymes cannot be produces as they are made up of protein.
