to grams, milligrams, micrograms,nanograms, picograms

I know there is 1000 grams = 1kg but I am not sure how to do the rest?

yes, keep on going. most scientific units go down in 10^-3 increments ie they decrease by a thousand each time. so if there are 1000g= 1 kg, there will be 1000mg=1g, 1000ug=1mg,1000ng=1000ug,1000pg=1ng.
since the SI unit is kg, everything is given relative to 1kg. so 1mg=1x10^-3 kg (1000mg=1kg,divide both sides by 1000 gives you that equation). apply this principle and you ahould be able to work out the rest.

I'm not sure of what the different gram sizes are but all you do is change the number to standard form and then go from there.  When it is transferred to scientific notation it will be kilograms.  As the gram itself gets smaller the number gets larger.  For example, 1 gram is smaller than 1 kilogram making the number of grams in a kilogram larger.  If you are having trouble figuring out what I mean, send me an email at sambony94.
