Can you always ascertain an organism's genotype for a particular gene if you know its phenotype? Conversely, if you are given an organism's genotype for a gene, can you always reliably predict its phenotype? Explain.

No, because many different genes can produce the same phenotype, and the same gene(s) can produce different phenotypes because of phenotypic plasticity. Genes do not work in a vacuum, the environment often has a good deal to do with the phenotype expressed.
