After the nose breaks, you can have damage to soft tissues as well like blood vessels and lymph nodes etc. This damage or loss of soft tissue structures can redirect blood flow and decrease fluid drainage and retention. This can affect sinus pressure and make you more susceptible to sinus pressure headaches, nose bleeds etc. The act of breaking a bone can also put a lot of stress and pressure on the nerves in the area. Traumatic injuries to an area also an increase sensitivity in the area, and this can occur in other areas besides the nose. I broke my hand and the bone I broke is still tender to touch. It is different for everyone, some will have no residual effects and others will have lingering maxillary pain and hypersensitivity.
