A projectile is fired at an initial velocity of 1200 feet per second and an angle of 42 degrees to the horizontal.
Find the horizontal and vertical velocity.
Find the time at which the projectile hits the ground.
Find the range of the projectile.

Please help me, and include work if it isn't too much trouble. I have no idea.

Vh = 1200 Cos[42]
Vv = 1200 Sin[42]
The above are INITIAL velocities

TO find the time, you ignore the horizontal completely, and use
Y = Y0 + V0t - .5gt^2  [I rewrote D = Do + Vot + .5at^2]
Since no cliff is mentioned treat as Y0 = 0
Find t such that Y = 0
Multiply the time it is in the air by Vh to get how far it goes
