also, does the US have the most documented cases of thyroid disease? i know ppl around the world, and i don't really see the hair thinning like i do here. maybe it's all the medications. thanks

Hair loss can be attributed to:
1. genetic..inherited from parent to offspring (alopecia)
2. Environment... chemotherapy, effects of drugs, pollution.

I would assume that hair loss could also be attributed to the lack of sleep. Especially during this day and age when technology is prevalent in everyday lives. I could name a bunch of people who stay up all night playing MMORPGs, go on social networking sites, watching cute kitty videos...and stuff like that...BUT WHO REALLY KNOWS?  Smiling Face with Horns
