Well, 2 C2H6 molecules react with 7O2 molecules, therefore to find out how many O2 molecules react with 56 C2H6 do the following sum:

(56/2)*7 = 196 O2 molecules needed

We now have the reaction equation:
56C2H6 + 196O2>>>112CO2 + 21H2O

Look at the ratio between C2H6 and O2 (the coefficients in the balanced equation).  This ratio is both the molecule ratio and the mole ratio.

56 C2H6 x 7 O2/2C2H6 = 196

2 molecules of Ethanol obviously need 7 molecules of O2.
Therefore 56 molecules of C2H6 = 7/2 x 56 = 196 mol. O2.

if 2 C2H6 react with 7 O2 then 28*2(=56) C2H6 react with 28*7 O2 molecules = 196 O2 molecules out of my head, no calculator needed.
