(x + 5) / (x^3 + x - 4)

No matter how many times I use the quotient rule my teacher taught me, I can never get the right derivative using it. Can someone explain how exactly to get this answer?

You have to do the Quotient rule\

High is the numerator
Low is the Denominator
Der is Derivative

[(Low)(Der of High)] - [(High)(Der of Low)]
_____________________________ ___
 (Low)^2

Then simplify
