I was recently looking at videos of cars being struck by lightning, and a thought came to mind.  Can lightning really power up an electrical car?  And would a cars frame serve as a faraday cage in an event of an emp explosion?

Unfortunatley, no.
Lightning has too much voltage,
Its temperature is too high,
and most of all, you will never know when the lighting will hit.
Hope I helped:)

no. The technology to handle millions of volts at very high currents does not exist, and if it did, it would be too expensive to equip every car with it, on the one in a million odds of being hit by lightning.

Re faraday cage, no, there is too much glass window area in a car.

The quick answer is TECHNICALLY YES; it could power a car for a while, if the technology existed
However the technology does not exist at present time
Assuming the technology did exist to capture the lightning, store the energy, convert it to usable values?
To calculate the ?while? is a very complex issue
Maybe the people in math could figure out the while
