2 -- The priority is to have the bone immobilized so that the fracture will heal in its correct anatomic position. This will allow unimpaired range of motion for the arm and prevent deformities or misalignment of the affected extremity. Immediate surgical correction is not the correct intervention for this diagnosis. Applying ice and compression to the injured arm is not the top priority intervention. Ace wrap and elevation is not the priority intervention.
