How? Is it 30 mL for each 30 oz regardless of the food items? Just curious.

I would suppose it is, since they're referring to volume as a whole

But shouldn't they have different density?

That's true. But the question doesn't mention it, so why fret it.

Here is how calculation is done:

Fluid intakes:
3 oz grape juice

6 oz broth

9 oz coffee

12 oz soft drink
conversion factor: 1 oz = 30 mL
Therefore:

Tip: for easy conversion multiply the number by 3 then add a zero

3 oz grape juice = 90 mL

6 oz broth = 180 mL

9 oz coffee = 270 mL

12 oz soft drink = 360 mL

total intake served at 100% (since the question didn't specify the intake % so we assume it's 100%) = 90 mL + 180 mL+270 mL+ 360 mL= 900mL
