Create and label a Punnett square to determine the possibility of a couple having a color-blind child if the mother has the recessive trait on one X and the father is color-blind. HINT: Use Xb to indicate an X with the color-blindness trait.

1.   XbXb -> affected female
2.   XbX -> carrier female
3.   XbY -> affected male
4.   XY -> normal female

Question: What percentage of female offspring will be color-blind? What percentage of male offspring will be color-blind?

Using your notation, the ♀ is XBXb and the ♂ is XbY. The Punnett square is:
_____Xb_____Y___←♂ gametes
XB__XBXb___XBY__
Xb__XbXb___XbY__

♀ gametes

Half the sons and half the daughters will be colorblind.
