Aspirin has the chemical formula C9H8O4.

What is the elemental composition by mass of Aspirin expressed as a percentage? For calculations, take the molar masses of Hydrogen, Carbon and Oxygen to be 1,12,16g/mol respectively.

I think you multiple the number of carbon atoms by 12 (therefore, 9 x 12). Then to the same for each atom, keeping in mind the number of atoms there are for each. You take these numbers and divide each one by the total molar masses and multiple by 100%.
