The purpose of the business analysis is to rank potential ideas and eliminate those judged to have low financial promise. Market demand, costs of production and marketing, revenue and profits must be estimated.  A competitive review evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of products that will compete with the new product.  Competitor reaction to the launch of a new product will also be considered here.
