I guess water coming out of a hose could be considered a projectile (using v=d/t and the other formulas).. right? But it is a little difficult to measure the time that it takes the water to reach the ground. Is there a way around this?

measure how high the water goes when the hose is held up. You have initial velocity, V, and acceleration = -g. You know the distance, h. Find the balance and solve for V.

divide 60 by the number of seconds it takes to fill a 1 gallon bucket - this yields gallons/minute.
