Excuse me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t pattern 3 have 59 moos in all 6 transects. From the first transect to the last it’s 9, 20, 5, 14, 8 and 3. 9+20+5+14+8+3=59. Thus 59/6=9.8 followed by the Dp which is 9.8/4.8km2 =2.04 = 2

1) the distribution pattern 1 &2 have three transects but distribution pattern 3 have six transects .
2) distribution pattern 1 &2 have equal area per transcet,
but distribution pattern 3 has double area compared to 1&2 .
3) distribution pattern 1 - 14 moose in 3 transects
distribution pattern 2 - 22 mooses in 3 transcets
distribution pattern 3 - 60 moose in 6 transcets
4) distribution pattern 1 - 14/3 - 4.6 average
distribution pattern 2 - 22/3 - 7.33 average
distribution pattern 3 - 60/6 - 10 average
5) if we assume 1 transcet = 1km area ,
on average density of population is
4.6 per km in pattern 1 .
same as above average numbers
