So, professor is doing this on a quiz tomorrow.  I've never taken calc before.  He's giving us the first and second derivatives, but not the function.  I can find the critical and inflection points.  How do I find the asymptotes?

Vertical Asymptotes occur when the derivative goes to infinity.

So if you can find a way to make the denominator of the derivative go to 0, then there is a vertical asymptote. Evaluate it coming from the left and the right to determine which side is negative and positive.

Horizontal asymptotes occur when the derivative becomes some constant, C, when the derivative approaches a limit of +/- infinity.

Hope that helps.
