First one should be (A): Decrease in the level of the hormone pregesterone, may cause uterine changes.

Yes! During pregnancy, progesterone is present in large concentrations. As the placenta ages, the levels decrease and this may cause an increase in prostaglandin, which will cause uterine contractions.

The placenta is formed from the region of the chorion still in contact with the uterine wall.  It functions to deliver nutrients to the developing fetus and carry wastes away from the developing fetus.
