B) When a business is embarking on a promotional campaign, goals or marketing objectives must be determined to ensure the success of the campaign and in order to be able to assess the effectiveness of the efforts made. Building traffic, increasing brand awareness, responding to an attack by a competitor, and introducing a new product are all viable goals. They are not, however, promotional tools or characteristics of market distribution; nor are they symptoms of a strengthening market, and they are certainly not examples of organizational weaknesses. They represent challenges to be met and goals to be achieved.
