What type of reaction occurs between fullerene and free radicals?
What type of reaction occurs between fullerene and free radicals (i.e.: hydroxyl radical)?
I'm confused on the reaction, if there is a chemical equation drawn that would be great?
How do fullerenols react with free radicals? (I have heard that they don't react and just act as free radical sponges.)

How do fullerenols react with free radicals?
Due to their hydrophilic properties and the ability to eliminate free radicals, fullerenols may in the future provide a solid alternative to currently used pharmacological methods in chemotherapy, treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and radiobiology. Depending on the research protocol applied, fullerenols may also act as pro oxidants.
